The Feral Mother is a mother run business that aims to celebrate motherhood in all its wild glory and encourages mothers to celebrate themselves. We are the housewives, the homemakers, the working women, the ring-leaders, the wearer of many hats!

Created by me, a mother who is raising the next generation of wildlings. When I had my first baby I left my big, fancy job to become her full-time caretaker and never looked back. My priorities simply just shifted after that because I no longer felt like I wanted to work 13 hours a day away from my baby. Shortly after her birth, I realized how much I loved birth and became a doula where I got to witness the beauty that comes along with pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. I fell even more in love with all things surrounding birth and mothering and had developed a deep appreciation for everything we go through as mothers. We are freakin’ badasses!

With the birth of my children came the motivation to live my life a little differently. I have always lived a more natural lifestyle and raising my children that way was important to me, which meant the majority of my time would be spent with them. It was important to me to nourish them with the best possible ingredients and find clothes that were also quality made. So naturally, I became a homemaking queen who learned (well, still learning) to craft a lot of goodies myself. With that came the natural appreciation of homemaking and celebration of all the goodness that comes along with being a homemaker.

My kids are the driving force for everything that I do. They are the messy haired, dirty feet, run around naked type, and I wouldn’t have it any other way, they inspire me to live more wild and free every day. This is where I got the idea for The Feral Mother.  

What started as a small idea in ended up in the creation a line of apparel that highlights none other than us mothers. I wanted it to be fun and quirky and outline some of the things that I loved about my mothering experience. Also, Let’s be real, motherhood is hard and we certainly don’t give ourselves enough credit! From birthing, feeding, raising, and clothing tiny humans, to starting our own businesses from home – we can do it all.  My hope is that when you wear something from this shop not only does it make you smile and encourage you to tackle the day, but also give you the feeling that there’s a whole crew of other moms behind you also celebrating you.  

As I said before, quality is important to me and I wanted to ensure that this bled into my business. Within the shop you’ll find items that are made with eco friendly materials ranging from ring-spun cotton, organic cotton, and recycled polyester. As The Feral Mother expands I will continue to search and expand my product base.
